The last couple weeks of soapmaking have consisted of mostly catch-up work so I’m just getting into the fun of holiday soaping. Ryan and I worked on two new blends that we think folks will really enjoy. Both are unnamed as of yet, so I’ll just describe them for a little teaser.
#1 – Sweet almond blended with cocoa absolute and spices. This one needs to sit and “marinate” so the spices come through. Almond is so powerful it takes time for the other scents to get a chance to step up!
#2 – Siberian fir essential oil with just a titch of cedar and sage. Brisk, green, and manly! A man’s Christmas soap! (High five?)
Regulars:
Milky Way – a big hit in the winter for our most sensitive clients. The goat milk really makes a difference!
Cocoa Buzz – The beans in this blend are amazing and the scent of the coffee really comes through despite the high heat the oils go through to make itself into soap. Add the cocoa drizzle and we’re talking a to-die-for kitchen soap. I can’t wait to test drive a bar in my kitchen.
Blackberry Basil – A stellar swirl pattern came out on this fruity yet herbal bar. It’s going to knock socks off, I tell ya.
We’re gearing up for another busy day in the shop. I’ve got Lemon Poppyseed, Oatmeal Milk & Honey, Castile, Sandalwood Vanilla, and Garden Scrub to get done so we don’t risk anything selling out just in time for our early bird Christmas shoppers.
